This tutorial on MediaStudio Pro, the popular and powerful video editing package from Ulead Systems, is in the form of an electronic book. It is based on a series of 11 articles that appeared in the excellent UK magazine Computer Video. The original articles applied to version 5.2 of MediaStudio Pro, but the current edition of the book has been fully revised for version 6.0. You can download the full book as well as a smaller preview version.
The
book comprises 13 chapters and is fully illustrated with example screen
shots. It is now only available by download, the CD that was offered
previously is no longer shipped.
However, the additional Guide mini-book can now be downloaded. This is based on the shorter series of 5 articles on version 6 published in the Feb-June 2001 issues of Computer Video, and was previously only supplied on the CD. It is accessible using the same licence key as the main tutorial.
Both "books" are supplied as single executable files which need no installation, and operate exactly like a Web browser, including personal bookmarks and full-text search. The tutorial may be freely downloaded, but most of the content is not accessible without a key. On purchasing a licence you will receive a personal key by email which will give you access to the entire contents. Full details are also in the tutorial itself.
To try out the book, you can download the 500 KB preview instead of the 4.5 MB full publication. The preview behaves exactly the same as the full book when you don't have a licence, saving download time if you just want to check it out.
Needs IE4 or higher
- Because of the way the book is built, you must have Internet Explorer 4 or higher installed on your system to be able to use the tutorial. You do not have to have it configured as your default browser, but the Windows components that are part of it are also used by the book, so they must be installed.
- If you have Windows 98, ME, or 2000 then you already have the required components.
