John was the sixth of twelve children born into the farming family of John Roberts (Ty Newydd) and Ann Jones (Ty Cerrig) in Cymo farm, Rhewl, Llantysilio, North Wales.

Margaret was the eldest of three girls born to Robert Davies (Plas Drain) and Martha Roberts at Graig Ddu, Rhewl, Llantysilio, North Wales. Birth certificate.

They married in Llantysilio Parish Church on 14th December 1921 by banns. Witnesses were John Gladstone Roberts (father of John Roberts) and Gwladys Myfanwy Davies (sister to Margaret).

Enys Roberts married Robert Andre Jones and lived in West Africa for some years. Following his death she lived in Essex but emigrated to Canada on retirement. Their children are Linda (the author) who lives in the UK, Christine and a third daughter who live in Canada.

Olwen Roberts emigrated to Canada in the 1950's and married Arnold Goetz, she had two surviving children both of whom live in Canada.

Ian (Jones) Roberts was the son of Harriet Olwen Davies (sister of Margaret) and Norman Jones. He was adopted by Margaret Davies and John Roberts on the death of his mother. He married but died in East Africa before their only child was born - this child currently lives in the middle east with her husband and three children.
